October 25, Tomasz Mróz from a National Contact Point for EU Research Programs presented the possibilities and challenges facing the bioeconomy: H2020_Kraków_T_Mroz.
Representatives of various stakeholder groups formulated the content that was discussed during the seminar – the philosopher, Janina Filek, discussed about the need to change the economic paradigm and implement economics based on values other than short-term profit. There was an interesting discussion on the concept and evolution of the bioeconomy. Representatives of business and science presented innovative products – for example biopolymers and modern plant protection chemicals; also in the context of institutional barriers affecting the bioeconomy in Poland. The representative of the LifeScience cluster brought the subject of the Avantgarde Initiative – a European supra-regional project of implementing smart specializations. One of them is the bioeconomy, and Małopolska has joined this project.
